Obama’s Right-hand Man: America Will Be Torn Apart If Trump Isn’t Allowed to Run

Possible removal of Donald Trump from the presidential elections would “tear apart” the United States of America, stated former senior adviser to Barack Obama, David Axelrod, for CNN.

“I have very, very strong doubts about all this. I think it would tear the country apart if he’s not allowed to run because tens of millions of people want to vote for him,” Axelrod cautioned.

If the Democrats were to defeat Trump, he said, they would likely have to “do it at the ballot box.” As the former adviser noted, attempts to remove the former president have yielded opposite results: Trump, despite various allegations against him, has only gained popularity.

Previously, Trump was not allowed to participate in the Republican primaries in Colorado, scheduled for March 5. Secretary of State Jena Griswold stated that the politician would be able to participate in the elections if his disqualification by the specified dates is not confirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. Secretary of State from Maine, Shanna Belose, later announced a similar decision. Trump’s campaign has announced its intention to challenge the decisions, calling them “an attempt to steal the elections and interfere with them.”
